FEEDING ROOM
The hospital has established a dedicated Breastfeeding and Lactation Support Room to provide a comfortable, hygienic, and private environment for mothers to breastfeed their babies. Recognizing the importance of breastfeeding in promoting the health and well-being of both mother and child, the facility is designed to support and encourage successful breastfeeding practices.
The room ensures complete privacy and comfort for nursing mothers and is supervised by trained nursing staff who provide guidance, assistance, and emotional support during breastfeeding. Mothers receive individualized counseling on proper breastfeeding techniques, positioning, attachment, and common breastfeeding concerns to help ensure effective feeding and maternal confidence.
Educational materials displayed within the room create awareness about the numerous benefits of breastfeeding, including its role in enhancing infant immunity, promoting healthy growth and development, strengthening mother–child bonding, and reducing the risk of various illnesses. Information is also provided regarding exclusive breastfeeding, recommended feeding practices, and maternal nutrition during the lactation period.
The Breastfeeding and Lactation Support Room serves as an important component of the hospital’s maternal and child healthcare services, promoting the principles of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) and supporting mothers in providing the best possible nutrition for their infants. Through education, counseling, and compassionate care, the facility contributes significantly to improving neonatal health and encouraging optimal breastfeeding practices.
